SS Rotary Unions
The primary function
of rotary couplings is for the purpose of
transferring either liquids, such as water
or thermal oil to a rotating workpiece such
as a roll or screw so as to either heat
or cool the unit, or air for the purpose
of actuating a brake or clutch, or both.
The coupling consists of a main housing,
which remains stationary, and a hollow shaft
which is able to rotate. The latter is normally
attached to the rotating workpiece by either
a thread or a flange. |
