Series/Style II,
III and III-V Ball
Joints are designed
for service to pressure
of 1500 psig (103
bar) and saturated
steam service to
650 degrees F(343
degrees C). Sezes
3"(80mm) to 6"(150mm)
are available. Casing
and ball are carbon
steel. The spherical
surface of the ball
is plated with two
mils of chrome consisting
of one mil hard
chrome over one
mil of crack free
chrome. The chrome
surface is protected
by baked-on molybdenum
disulfide coating.
Schedule 80 welded
ends are standard.
Weld ends machined
to match other scheduled
pipe are available.
Consult factory.
Ductile iron seals
are standard. Other
seal materials are
available. See Pages
24 and 25 for desciptions
and ratings.
Flake graphite sealant
is standard for
Style II, III and
III-V Ball Joints.
Style II Ball Joints
Style II Ball Joints
are constructed
with two ductile
iron seals with
a factory injected
secondary sealant.
The sealant may
be replenished in
the field through
the casing charging
port. System pressure
must be relieved,
and joints allowed
to cool before removing
plugs for servicing.

a description of
the recharge cylinder
(not included with
the ball joint).

Style III and III-V
Ball Joints allow
sealant recharging
in the field, under
full line pressure
and temperature.

Joints
are
warranted
to be
free
from
defects
in material
and
workmanship
for
a period
of five
years
from
the
date
of original
shipment
from
factory.
Hyspan's
liability
shall
be limited
to the
repair
or replacement
of any
material
determined
to be
defective
upon
return
to factory,
freight
prepaid,
or at
Hyspan's
option,
to a
refund
of the
original
purchase
price.
Hyspan
shall
have
no liability,
direct
or consequential,
for
any
damages
arising
from
the
installation,
or resulting
from
the
use
or misuse,
of any
defective
material.
In addition,
Hyspan
guarantees
the
satisfactory
performance
of Hyspan's
Style
III
and
Style
III-V
Packed
Type,
Ball
Joints
for
a period
of five
years
from
the
date
of original
shipment,
provided
that
the
Ball
Joints
are
installed,
operated
and
serviced
in accordance
with
Hyspan's
prescribed
standards.
Hyspan
will
repair
or replace
without
charge,
any
Style
III
and
III-V,
Packed
Type,
Ball
Joints
which
fails
to give
satisfactory
performance
under
these
prescribed
conditions.
